 White. सफेद (saphed in Hindi)

I wanted to dress in white for my father’s burial as it is the custom in India when you mourn a loved one, but of course in wintery France this was not possible. Instead, I wore a white Kashmiri shawl for the symbol.

Today as our snowed Yvelines countryside takes me back to the memory of those funeral days, I suddenly realize that Mother Nature was the one bearing the white coat for my father’s demise.
